Why Choose PETG?
Standard cavaletti blocks are often made from brittle PVC or cheap, hollow HDPE. At PoleRise System, we specifically engineered our blocks using Impact-Resistant PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) because your horse's safety shouldn't be a gamble.
The PETG Advantage vs. Competition
- Superior Shock Absorption: Unlike standard plastic that can shatter or crack under stress, PETG is a "ductile" material. It is designed to flex and absorb energy, significantly reducing the risk of injury if a horse strikes a block.
- Built for the Elements: Our PETG is structurally sound up to 135°F and remains flexible in freezing temperatures where PVC becomes dangerously brittle. Whether in a dusty summer arena or a frozen winter field, your system stays intact.
- The "Smart" Safety Release: We designed our modular fasteners to provide a firm, stable stack for training, but with a engineered fail-safe. Under an abnormal impact, the blocks are designed to disengage and scatter. This prevents the "trip-wire" effect seen in heavy wooden cavalettis or rigid poly-blocks.

How do horses see color?
Horses are dichromatic, meaning they primarily see blue and yellow wavelengths. Unlike humans, they have limited ability to distinguish red and green tones.
Because of this, contrast matters more than brightness when it comes to training tools.
Why do we offer blue PoleRise blocks?
Blue is one of the most visible colors to horses.
It stands out clearly against:
• Sand
• Grass
• Indoor arena footing
• Snow
Stronger visibility helps horses better judge pole height and spacing, supporting more confident and accurate cavaletti work.
Does color really make a difference in training?
Clear contrast helps horses assess obstacles more effectively. When a pole setup is visually distinct from the footing, horses can approach with improved depth perception and confidence — especially young or green horses.
Thoughtful design supports better training outcomes.
Why do we also offer red?
While red is less visually distinct to horses than blue, many barns and trainers prefer it for its bold, classic aesthetic.
Red:
• Matches barn colors and branding
• Photographs beautifully
• Offers a strong professional look
We believe training tools should be both functional and visually cohesive within your program.
